The login page for online library resources typically looks like this:
If the screen where you are trying to login is significantly different, please try looking up the resource again from the Library website, either via Discover@Bolton (if it is an ebook or an article), via our A-Z of Databases, or through the Subject Guide for your course. If you are trying to access a resource outside of these methods, such as directly from a website, it may not recognise your credentials or ask for payment.
If you are using the correct login screen but still having difficulties, please try the following:
- Make sure you are using your University of Bolton username and password. Your username typically takes the form "abc2xxx" for students, or "xx[number]" for staff. It isn't the student number printed on your ID card and your student email address won't work. You can look up your university username here.
- If your browser 'remembers' passwords automatically, try clearing the password and typing it in instead.
- Type carefully! Passwords are case-sensitive. If you input the wrong password several times, you may be locked out of your account.
If your password isn't working on library resources, try it on another University of Bolton platform like Moodle or your email.
If your account is locked or you have forgotten your password you can:
Unlock your University account here
If your username and password allows you to access other UoB resources like Moodle, but does not work on Library resources, please contact us providing the details of the resource you are trying to access.
