No, we do not use Athens here at the University of Bolton: other universities may do, however, so if you have studied elsewhere/have friends studying elsewhere you may have come across this term. 

If you are trying to access a resource and you are being asked to enter your Athens details, the chances are that you haven't quite gone about accessing a resource in the way that we recommend: we use special links to our resources to ensure that you can access resources easily, and with your usual Bolton ID and password. Always start off at the library homepage or your Subject Guide. Click on the link to resource you wish to access, and when prompted, enter your Bolton ID and password.

A small number of resources require separate usernames and passwords; these are clearly marked on the A to  Z list of resources.
