The very first thing to do is to make a note of the shelf mark on the library catalogue:

Then, look at the signs on the ends of the shelves which will tell you which class numbers can be found on that shelf. Follow the small blue arrows on the edges of the shelves to see how they are arranged. For further help, look at our guide to finding books on shelves.
