How you reference your work depends on two things:

1. What it is you need to reference
2. The referencing system you have been told to use

A number of referencing systems are in use at the University of Bolton:

• Harvard: mainly used by Art and Design, Engineering, Sciences and Social Science
• Numeric: mainly used by Humanities
• APA: used by Psychology
• OSCOLA: used by Law

You will find sections on each of these, including examples of how to reference, in LEAP Online. 

The Library also provides access to a referencing management tool called RefWorks, and information on how to create an account and use the service is linked below;
